France is without a doubt one of the most beautiful countries out there and it receives the most number of tourists compared to other countries. The Eiffel tower and the Louvre is a must-see for anyone who travels there but there are other lesser known yet equally beautiful places in France that most people don’t know about. So, here’s a few that can be worth an eye when visiting France:
Lavender fields in Provence
This is totally worth going if you ever visit France in the flowering season, that is between July and August. The view is just fabulous and would look amazing on pictures. It is also a good place to get freshly picked truffles, black currents and chestnuts.
La petite Venice
This is also known as Little Venice and is a marvelous sight to see and is best seen through a boat. It has small old houses that are centuries old, cobblestones streets and other places, the whole view will give you a village atmosphere. This place in Colmar is a big place and would be best enjoyed with the help of a tour guide. They can help show you around the whole place and can offer you an insight into the history of the place. We would have gotten through well without a tour guide but we certainly would have missed out on a few hidden places.
A tour guide is like your friend, our one used to talk not only about France but about himself. He was apparently a taxi driver that got to this profession due to the availability of tourism courses online. He was full of energy and very enthusiastic.
Bubble hotel in Allauch
This place is located in the pine forest of Allauch, it has tiny transparent bubbles that serve as a room for camping. Now ditch the old-fashioned camping with tents and just use bubbles. It’s certainly a good experience, though anything without insect bites can be a good camping experience. The bubble room consists of a bed, an open-air Jacuzzi, and other luxuries.
La city Medieval Carcassonne
This was added to the UNESCO world heritage site in 1997, the architecture of this place would leave you in awe. It would help to have a guide by your side when exploring this ancient place to help you navigate through the place with ease and enrich you with its historical significance.
A tour guide at the least has done a diploma of travel and tourism online and is experienced in dealing with tourists so this would not be like your boring history lessons back in school, he would be trained to deliver it in a more interesting manner.
There are many more places to visit in France and things to do, it is a good idea to get a travel map or a tour guide if you are unsure or if you don’t know the language. This can help you move around the place easier, understand the place better and would decrease the chances of being ripped out.
